Day Hike Summer Ale is back and so are our brand ambassadors! We’re looking forward to sharing all of their amazing trail reports and photos this summer.
First up, meet Brandon and Rachel with Beers at the Bottom! They’re a writing and photography team focusing on pairing Pacific Northwest trails and ales. Both lifelong Washingtonians, they grew up hiking and camping, and enjoy sharing their love of the outdoors. Their first book, ‘Beer Hiking Pacific Northwest,’ is scheduled for a 2017 release. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
Beers at the Bottom is hoping to spend most of the summer hiking up in the North Cascades, hitting trails like Ptarmigan Ridge, Hannegan Pass, and Maple Pass Loop. Their favorite Two Beers brews are Wonderland Trail IPA, Cold Brew Coffee Brown Ale, and of course Day Hike Summer Ale.
Their advice for new adventurers is to hit the trail prepared. Check Washington Trails Association for current trip reports on trail conditions, and always pack the ten essentials. With the increase of boots on the trail, crowded hikes are becoming the norm in the Seattle area— head north or east for some awesome mountain views and a bit more solitude.
