Hops, grain, and yeast are all gifts from God
The fact that beer is a liquid is simply amazing considering that three of the four main ingredients are malted grain, hops, and yeast. It doesn’t hurt that the fourth ingredient is water though. To learn more about the process visit the process page by clicking on the fermenters.
Where does Two Beers Brewing Company get it’s ingredients from?
With our attempt to be a hyper-local business our hope is to get as many local ingredients as possible. Although this is easier to do in Washington than probably anywhere in the entire United States it is still a difficult thing to do. Most of the world’s hops are grown in the surrounding Columbia River area but a lot of the grain has to come from Wisconsin. But as a way to offset this Two Beers Brewing Company uses a local supplier so that the money spent stays local. The yeast that we use comes from across the border, in Oregon. All other additives, such as honey, spices, chocolate, cherries, or anything else that is experimented with at Two Beers Brewing Company will be at minimum Washington native and Washington grown.
Why are Local Ingredients so important?
Have you ever thought that getting a banana in January is a bit strange? The earth has cycles and living in the Pacific Northwest our climate has its own cycle. Bu buying local two things are accomplished. One, Washington’s economy is supported. Two, the impact on the Earth is minimized by reduced shipping.
