If you’ve been to the brewery, you’ve probably seen Willis. This goofy, fun loving (and short) pooch is hard to miss. The inspiration behind the Crooked Belgian Wit – named after his loveable crooked feet – Willis is an eight-year-old hound mix who was adopted from the Seattle Humane Society in 2004.
Brewery life is an exciting one for Willis. Before becoming the official brewery mascot, his job was to sleep, eat and bark at anyone he found suspicious. His main job now: make people smile.
Whether it be waiting patiently with toes turned out for peanuts, convincing people to throw his ball or supervising the brewing process, Willis is an integral part of what makes Two Beers Brewing tick and a favorite among tasting room visitors. The feeling is mutual. Willis is always ready to greet tasting room patrons with a friendly wag of his tail.
Born and raised in Seattle by owner Joel VandenBrink, Willis loves backpacking. Ready to go with his favorite treats – peppers, cheese, jerky and smoked salmon – packed in his doggy backpack, Willis’ favorite trips involve camping by a lake – nothing beats a cold morning swim after a night under the stars! While Willis responds to the standard sit-stay-shake commands, he has a few tricks very few people know. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot him performing one of these infamous tricks in the Two Beers Brewing tasting room.
