Hops have always been part of life for this lower Yakima Valley native. Born into a fourth generation family hop farm – in operation since the 1930s – Tyler knows what goes into growing great hops and how important great hops are to making amazing beer. In April 2008, Tyler met Joel while running his family farm's booth at the Annual Craft Brewer's Conference. Tyler began brewing with Joel and became Two Beers Brewing’s first employee in December 2008.
Holding down a full-time job as a financial analyst in the agribusiness sector, Two Beers Brewing is what Tyler does outside of work – and loves it. Similar to farming, Tyler enjoys that brewing allows him to make something with his hands, while patiently awaiting the outcome each and every time. What’s more is the feeling of getting to go out and sell a product he truly believes in. “The ultimate reward is interacting with those who are enjoying the fruits of our labor.”
Another love of this passionate and focused brewer is spending time with his wife and newborn daughter. He also enjoys cooking, skiing – on both water and snow – and playing board games.
